The Tongcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in 2001 with the approval of the Anhui Provincial Government and was upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone in 2013 with the approval of the State Council. It has a total planned area of 68 square kilometers; the first phase, covering 10 square kilometers, has been fully completed, and the second phase covers 10 square kilometers.It has been awarded honorary titles including “Provincial Printing and Packaging Industrial Park,” “Anhui Provincial Demonstration Base for New Industrialization (Environmental Protection Equipment),” “Anhui Provincial Intellectual Property Demonstration Park,” “Provincial Pilot Demonstration Zone for Green Development (Circular Economy Transformation Park),” and “Provincial Demonstration Park for Modern Environmental Protection Industry Utilizing Crop Straw.”
